Trademark ™, Registered ® & Copyright © Symbols
The trademark ™, registered ®, and copyright © symbols are not in ASCII. The ™ is Unicode U+2122, while ® (U+00AE) and © (U+00A9) sit just outside ASCII in the Latin-1 range. All three display everywhere. People often type (TM), (R), and (C) as ASCII fallbacks, and Word autocorrects those into the real symbols. Copy the correct glyph and its code below.
How to type ™, ®, and © on Windows and Mac
On Windows, hold Alt and type these on the numeric keypad: 0153 for ™, 0174 for ®, and 0169 for ©. In most apps you can also type (tm), (r), or (c) and autocorrect converts them. On a Mac, the shortcuts are Option+2 for ™, Option+R for ®, and Option+G for ©. On iOS and Android, these symbols are on the secondary symbols keyboard, and ™ often appears when you long-press related keys.
